Disclaimers & Crisis Resources
What our courses are, what they are not, and where to go for help if you need it now.
If you are in crisis right now
Please do not read a book or wait for tomorrow's email. Reach out to a real person who can help.

Educational scope
Every Warm Wisdom Press course is educational content. The lessons draw on established research (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, decision science, persuasion research, narrative-transportation literature, the Cambridge work on inoculation theory), but reading a course is not the same as working with a licensed professional.
Nothing on this site or in our books is:
- Medical advice or a substitute for medical care
- Mental-health therapy or a substitute for therapy
- Legal advice for your specific situation
- Financial advice or investment guidance
- Crisis-intervention support
For any of those, please talk to a licensed professional in your jurisdiction.
If you are living with abuse
Our book Not Your Fault is written for readers navigating difficult, critical, or emotionally overwhelming family dynamics. It is not written for situations of active physical, sexual, or severe emotional abuse. If you are in danger, books are too slow.
If you are experiencing severe anxiety, depression, or related distress
Our books on confidence, resilience, and judgment use evidence-based frameworks but are not designed for moderate-to-severe clinical conditions. If a course is making you feel worse, please stop reading and talk to a mental-health professional.

The Counter-Hate Series specifically
The three Counter-Hate books — See Through It, Build Something Real, and See the Person — teach pattern recognition for propaganda, radicalization, and prejudice. They are inoculation against manipulation, not political organizing, not a religion, and not a substitute for community help if you are concerned about a loved one being radicalized.
If someone you care about is showing signs of being drawn into a violent movement, contact Life After Hate (US, lifeafterhate.org) or your country's equivalent intervention support service.
The Not Your Fault book specifically
This book uses the word "parent" generically and the pronoun "she" because the most common audience is daughters with difficult mothers — but the techniques generalize. If your situation involves active violence, the resources above are the right first step.
The Starbound line specifically
Books in the Starbound line (the ones by Bob Williams, not Uncle Bob Williams) are written in a wrier, dryer voice. The skills are the same as the warm-wisdom line. If the Bob Williams voice does not work for you, the equivalent warm-wisdom book is on the homepage.
Results vary
People who read a course will get different things out of it. The research behind the techniques is real. Whether a daily practice produces results in your life depends on your situation, your effort, and a lot of things we cannot see from here. We will never promise you a specific outcome.
